So goodbye yellow brick road....

Where the dogs of society howl, You can't plant me in your penthouse, I'm going back to my plough.

I have to say that this is one of my favorite songs from Elton John.  When Lindsay asked the design team to create a card using a song as our inspiration, I really didn't know what I was going to do.  So I started going through the images and when I saw this one from Funky Forest, I couldn't stop singing that song.  I then googled it and saw the album cover and I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

So using the colors from this picture:

 and made this acetate card:

The card was actually pretty simple.  The acetate was a piece of printed 12x12 that I got in a kit and really had no idea what I was going to use it for.  I added the image on the back of the cover so it was showing through the front and then added a couple rub-ons.

Easy peasy :)  Now hop over to the other DT members and see what they have for you today.

Critter Sketch Challenge #8

Wow it is so hard to believe that we are already up to Challenge #8, where did the time go?
So this week the challenge was to follow this sketch and to use gingham somewhere on the card, whether it was paper, ribbon or on the image itself.  It is totally up to you but it has to be present :)

this was the sketch:

and here is my card, it uses Pretty from Victoria Case:

It's New Release Day at Bugaboo

and Jodie has once again created some more very cool images.  The one I choose to show for you today is Jesse Bear Angel, isn't he too cute for words?? :)  I created a little treat/goodie box that would be perfect for a baby shower or welcome baby gift.  Once again I used Cheryl's great tutorial on how to make bows, they are SO cool and easy to do (but they still aren't as good as her's).

Lindsay's Stamp Stuff

For this week, Lindsay wanted us to make anything but a card.  I've had this die from Sizzix for quite a while now and never used it so I decided to pull it out and use it.  The rattle images and the welcome baby banner are from the Babies and Bows set which can be found here.   Also the bow is made using the tutorial by Cheryl Walker, her bows are just awesome!!  The tutorial can be found here.

Fairy Lili card--Jackie R. NO PEEKING!!!

Every month over at the Inky Impressions yahoo group, we participate in a mingle.  For this month we were to create a thinking of you/hello card for our partner.  I was partnered up with Jackie and decided to use Fairy Lili, isn't she cute??  I didn't put a sentiment on it cause I figured Jackie could customize it for whatever she wanted to use it for...how's that for recycling? :)

I hope she likes it :)
