Inky Impressions - Bow tutorial

Happy Monday everyone!  Today is my turn over at Inky Impressions to do a tutorial for everyone.  Now I did't have time to create a new one as I've been out of the loop the last two weeks with a couple deaths in the family so I thought I'd pull up an older one I did and share it with you all.  Now i know you all love to make bows and well this little tool is fabulous!!


With this bow easy you can make bows in the following sizes: 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", 1 3/8", 1 3/4", 2 3/8", and 2 3/4"


Step 1: hold the bow easy in your hand with the size you want to make closer to you. Hold the bow easy and one end of the ribbon securely between your thumb and pointer. (see photo)

Step 2: Wrap the ribbon around the template so that the tails will cross over each other on the top. (see photo)

Step 3: Pull the tail that is crossing over the top through the middle so you forming a loop. (see photo)

Step 4: Pull the tail back around and through the loop. (see photo)

Step 5: Tighten the bow by pulling on both tails (see photo)

Step 6: This is the back view of the bow after your are finished, still on the template

Step 7: Pull the bow off of the template and trim ends to your liking.

If you want to make a double bow, repeat step #2 again before moving on to step #3. If you want to make a triple bow, repeat step #2 once again before moving on to step 3.

Watercolor-like background coloring

A few people had asked me to do a tutorial on the background I did for Corinne's birthday card (can find it here) but I stink at tutorials so I found this one that Suzanne Dean did and wanted to share with you all.  I hope this helps :)

Baby Wipe Tutorial

Today is Wednesday and that means it's Tutorial Day over at Bugaboo Stamps.  Today I am going to show you how to do the baby wipe technique.  Now if you have never tried this, you need to right now cause it gives you an awesome affect :)

Supplies:

Baby Wipe
Two or Three re-inkers
Craft Sheet or paper plate
Solid Stamp
Neutral cardstock




Step 1:

Fold the baby wipe in half, then fold again.  Place on a craft sheet or paper plate. (sorry no picture for this step, it's pretty self-explanatory anyway)


Step 2:

Starting with the darkest color of re-inker, start adding drops of it on the baby wipe (in the next few steps you will see I did it backwards but it still came out, so if you "mess" up don't worry about it LOL)

Step 3:

With the second re-inker, add more drops to the wipe

Step 4:

With the lightest colored re-inker, fill in all the white spaces you have left on the baby wipe.

Stamp 5:

Ink up the stamp using this makeshift inkpad and stamp on the cardstock.




And here is the final project using the stamped images.

Tutorial Wednesday at Bugaboo!

Have you ever tied a bow to only have one of the tails in the back and one in the front? Well I stumbled upon this great little gadget surfing the internet last week and I had to try it out. It's called Bow Easy I got it the other day and immediately I was hooked!! Perfect bows EVERY time!!!! You can do single, bows, double bows, triple bows...whatever you want.
